The Patient in Spirit is Better than the Proud of Spirit

"Better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof: and the patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit." Ecclesiastes 7:8

I'm going to just lay this out there because I AM SPEAKING TO MYSELF! This is something that I struggle with all of the time once I am working out and exercising consistently. It is hard to be humble when I am feeling good about myself physically. But like I mentioned in the last post, this fitness journey is NOT about looks. Our bodies can fail at any moment, for any reason, irregardless of how much we can lift or how many miles we run. But we CAN take advantage of what we use our bodies for. How many people do we try to encourage at the gym instead of making fun of them? How many times have you listened to a co-workers struggles during lunch instead of judging their fast food meal? How about keeping our mouths shut when a friend is feeling depressed instead of going on and on about how good we feel?
This is a silent homework, but an important one. Keep an open mind when you're going about your day and see how YOU can help someone in their health journey--whether that's helping them count reps or giving them a hug. You can comment about it below to encourage all of us, or you can keep it silent within your heart. Either way, seek those opportunities tomorrow. It's amazing what God has prepared for us if we'll only just look.
